“Discussing Coordination of European Policies in the aftermath of the European Union - Georgia Association Agreement and Sharing the Experiences of the Visegrad and Eastern Partnership Countries”

On 10th July 2014 in “Sheraton Batumi” Georgia’s Reforms Associates (GRASS) is organizing an event “Discussing Coordination of European Policies in the aftermath of the European Union - Georgia Association Agreement and Sharing the Experiences of the Visegrad and Eastern Partnership Countries”. During the round table discussion the following topics will be discussed: Europeanisation processes in Visegrad countries, different institutional models of the European policy coordination, myths and realities on the EU in Eastern Partnership countries, challenges for Georgia in the process of the Association Agreement implementation and alternative solutions to the problems.

The first session of the event will be dedicated to the project “Improving the Coordination of European Policies in Georgia Based on the Practices of V4 Counties“ that is being implemented with the financial assistance of Visegrad Fund and in cooperation with the leading Eastern European think-tanks. The project aims to improve the coordination of EU policies based on the outstanding practices of V4 in the process of implementation of Association Agreement. Project partners, experts from the Visegrad countries, will present specific examples of policy coordination taking into consideration the challenges of Georgia and best and worst practices of the Visegrad countries. Moreover, as envisaged in the project, there are planned several study-tours in respective Visegrad countries for Georgian and International experts, as well as Georgian officials responsible for the European Policies. The overall outcome of the project will be a final publication that will include the research carried out with relevant policy recommendations.

The event will be opened by a welcome speech by Mr. Aleksi Petriashvili, State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. Representatives of the governmental bodies responsible for the European Policies in Georgia, as well as non-governmental organizations, Georgian and international experts will participate in round table discussions.
