Analysis of the Implementation of the Georgia-Russia WTO Agreement and its Implications

The major goal of the project was to produce Policy brief that reflects policy recommendations based on the solid analysis of the WTO Agreement, as well as the legal framework, risks, challenges and the benefits. Since the identification of the legal and administrative challenges, the implications of the Agreement on the Government’s policy towards trade with the occupied regions, expert advice was provided regarding the implementation process of the Agreement. The recommendations on how to align the Agreement and its implementation with the Law of Georgia on the Occupied Territories, the State Strategy and Engagement Action Plan for the Occupied Territories and the Government’s conflict resolution policy in order the informed decisions to be taken were issued. The Policy brief that is based on the lengthy research and analysis can be considered a huge step forward in the successful implementation of the Agreement and professional assistance to the policy-makers responsible for the implementation of the WTO Agreement in the long-term perspective.
